Day Off?

The dictionary describes a day off in the following two ways:

Day Off:
A day away from work, school, or a similar obligation; a free day.

Day Off:
n : a day when you are not required to work; "Thursday is his day off"

Bullshit.

This is a farce. The dictionary is full of bold faced lies.

On my day off, I did the following:

Made bed
Did dishes
Swept floors
Vacuumed carpets
Put away dishes
Paid Bills
Cleaned up after messy cats
Dusted
Prepared ingredients for supper
Went to store to buy treats for said messy cats
Typed Blog
Surfed net for about 10 minutes
Cleaned up after messy cats
Checked email
Sent email
Checked other blogs
Listened to iPod while doing all of the above
Talked to Mother, Brother, and Friend
Cleaned up after messy cats

Day off? I did more work today then I do AT work. And it's not even half over yet.
I've yet to shower, or read. I need to read to relax.

I'm off to read before getting in the shower so that I can read again after I'm clean.

**UPDATE**
I am now clean.

I think I can help you eliminate some stuff so that you can more fully enjoy your next "day off"

Made bed - Not necessary
Did dishes - Brush off any large scraps and call it good.
Swept floors - Do that later.
Vacuumed carpets - Do this a week after you sweep the floors
Put away dishes - Why? You're just gonna get them out again.
Paid Bills - Yeah, do this.
Cleaned up after messy cats - Depends how messy.
Dusted - This is a once-a-year activity at most.
Prepared ingredients for supper - Two words: frozen pizza
Went to store to buy treats for said messy cats - Yeah, this is nice.
Typed Blog - Easy
Surfed net for about 10 minutes - That's quick.
Checked email - Sure
Sent email - Also easy.
Checked other blogs - Fun
Listened to iPod while doing all of the above - Fun
Talked to Mother, Brother, and Friend - Fun

I'm not even going to charge you for this analysis.

Chris- Thank you for the analysis. You may charge me at a later date, or send what you require via Myspace mail. I shall respond in kind.

And, supper was good. :) Not frozen Za though.

You have cats -- thank heavens you don't have kiddos. Then you would have to add

Take Jimbo to soccer practice

Take Cornelia to cheerleading practice

Pick both kids up from practice

Got to Walmart for homework supplies

Referee the fights between Jimbo and Cornelia

Do kids homework while they play on the computer

Worry about who the kids are chatting with while on line

Cook dinner - one dish for Jimbo, one for Cornelia and one for hubby/me

Ughhhh.... :)

I never have a day off...I never even get to call off sick...how fucked up is that? And I don't even have a job.

I normally perform all my internet related activity on the company's computer at work. You know, the regular run-of-the-mill stuff, send e-mails to friends, read blogs, online banking, download porno.

It really seems to free up my leisure time at home.

Big Orange: Yeah, I know that's what "they" mean, but it's still lame. I just want to be invisible for my day off, you know?

Marni: Tell me about it. These two are my kids now, I can hardly imagine the real thing..

Dirty: I'm sorry. Come on over and I'll pamper you.

Hootch: Trust me, if I had internet access at work, there would be a porn blockage.. I mean, there would be lots of other things done. Other than porn...
